So why is it that on DA a digital painting (clearly imitating trad art) will get many, many more views (like in the tens of thousands) while most actual traditional paintings get maybe 100 views? Honestly, why is that? Is digi art really better? Or maybe it's the Disney-fication of our modern culture? I really don't understand... Painting with actual paint is hard to do well, and there is something to be admired about someone still willing to take on a difficult medium (I think)... or perhaps they are just gluttons for punishment... One thing I do know is that outside of the computer screen, as in a gallery or museum setting, digital art feel

Not that I was dead or anything, but my life drawing group practically was... we've just started up again after a loooong summer hiatus. Of course, it's almost time for Christmas break again...
